This summer, hike, swim, picnic, or just relax at the area’s gorgeous state and local parks without the hassle of driving and parking fees by taking the bus! TCAT runs the Route 22 all summer long to Taughannock Falls, Buttermilk Falls, Robert Treman State Park and Cass Park. Route 13 will also take you to Stewart Park. With several runs per day, both routes will get you there and back, even on the weekends. Read or chat with your friends while you enjoy the air-conditioned buses and the view from the panoramic windows. You could even bring a bike with you to the park by using the bike rack available on all TCAT buses.
To find your way to the parks, use MySmartTrips to plan your way there. Go to my.smarttripsithaca.org, enter your starting point, and select the autocomplete result. Then enter the name of the park in the destination box, select the autocomplete result, and click on “Let’s Go!” TCAT transit directions leaving immediately will appear. Since you’re probably planning this trip ahead of time, you can change the departure time and date of your trip by clicking the “Revise Search” button to see all your options for another time. Make sure to plan the return trip as well for when you have to come back to civilization! Alternatively, you can check out the schedule for TCAT’s Route 22. Route 13 will take you to Stewart Park weekdays and weekends. Route 67 will also take you to Buttermilk Falls during the weekdays.
Make use of the free TCAT pass you got or bring $3 in change with you ($1.50 if over 60 or under 18) and go to the state and local parks the stress-free way by planning with MySmartTrips and taking TCAT. If you haven’t taken the bus in a while, or if it’s your first time, check out our Bus Basics video or call us at 607-252-6801 to schedule a one-on-one with us to try out TCAT. And if your car can’t hold 34 of your friends and family, we know something that can.
